President Donald Trump’s remarks on election administration, delivered Thursday night, took me by surprise. He did not rehash the 2020 election (even though he did say that we “can never watch a stolen election again”). He did not go after Georgia’s elections, as many had expected. He voiced some criticisms of election administrators, but far more pointed criticisms of the national security and law enforcement teams from his first term (it’s fair to say Trump harbors a deep dislike for Chris Krebs, his former head of Cybersecurity and Infrastructure).
