Wyoming’s governor and county election officials were taken aback last month when federal agents arrived at polling places on the day of the state’s primary elections and began confronting poll workers in a manner those officials described as improper, illegal, and aggressive.
On August 18, two Department of Justice (DOJ) election observers visited six of seven polling locations in Laramie County, the most populous county in Wyoming, and stated their intention to interview voters in order to verify compliance with voting-rights laws.
